Title: Another for the stable
Post by: glrasmussen on February 08, 2013, 04:30:06 AM
Was hoping a WI member would grab it. Posted and reposted. Had a friend that had to Green Bay this week and picked it up for me.
Purchased it and came with NIB disposable grill. How he came up with his price...He brought this to the scrap yard and they
would give him $7.00, he thought it would be worth more in scrap. He had a change in mind, brought it home and listed on CL instead of having it crushed. WKC prayers answered.

If I had not had my friend saying he would be making a trip, never could have touched it. I was surprised it lasted so long.
Now I need to go to Buckie's Arsenal of Home Depot spray paint, Gun Metal Blue for the legs....

Well, I took receipt of the three wheeler last night. Pretty darn good condition. Slight blemish in the bowl. It is a "B" so being over 30 years old, that is expectable. Should polish up nice this spring. Looking at the great ideas from the rebuild thread. Looks like at one time they used a pliers on the lower vents(must of burned fingers at one point. and they are not quite flush. Not sure if they should be removed or do my best to reform them on the bowl. It is small tab vents, unlike the rebuild SJ post.

Need some help from Buckie, it came with a bonus NIB throw away grill. The grate looks like the one used for the bonus turd rack.
What mod does it need to keep it level?

OK, here's "The Bonus 'Turd Rack"

I know it as the "MacGyver Upper Deck Smoking Rack" ( with flip up feature )

The one I have is 22-1/2" sized, here's a pic or two to show how it sits.....
I use a 3 x3 firebrick against the flip-up for the larger one......

And the handle that sticks out is just gently bent downward into the gap by the Weber grate handle ( at far left, here )...........

If yours is a smaller size, you may be able to rig some bolts to the bottom like Mr. Duke's upper deck rack......

PS: Bonus 'Turds taste better than regular 'Turds......

Don't cook ANYTHING directly over the firebrick, they get another 50-100° hotter than everything else......

Find a small one if you can & keep your available area .....well, available..... 8)

Thanks again! Looks like the Habanero rolled up, confused me to think it was a hot dog.
Habanero's in the midwest, I have never seen them that big.

Naw......those "hotdogs" are Vienna sausage-sized little Argentinian wieners..........

Whipped 'em out special like for the wiener throwdown at Smoke Ring.......

Those big ones on the Upper Deck ended up as a 'Turd Sammich.....
