Title: Does Kroil/Liquid Wrench ruin the finish?

I got a little on this black fade mbh while addressing its caddywampus issue.

Was there some kind of semi-speckled original finish that's now "ruined", or is this akin to spraying w/ Pam?

The solid dark spots have the oil on them.

It looks like the oil has just darkened things up a bit like the Pam. If you apply to the rest of the kettle it should even out.
