Great looking rescue Fink! Save the old ash catcher.

Thanks.
I have to give all the credit to Terry as he was the rescuer.  I was the beneficiary  ;)
I have all the stuff I pulled off and am keeping it for when needed.  I think I may polish the old ash pan and install it. I was just excited about getting the leg socket fixed and was ready to cook on it that night.

Nice.  Where did you order the leg  kit?

I got it direct from weber.  It comes in a non retail plain brown cardboard box, so i guess that is why it is cheaper.  Grates on the other hand were cheaper at Lowe's.

Thats a sweet looking Red! Very nice!  How did you fix the front leg socket?  I agree on keeping and polishing up the old twisty ash catcher.. It'l make it look like a sweet vintage '79-'80 kettle with the newer legs, vents and wheels.  :D. Definitely a keeper that will remain in good hands.

It gives me some ideas as for what handle stain(s) to do with a redhead of this vintage.  :D
