Will the middle chamber of a 22" WSM fit a standard 22" kettle? Thanks for the help.
@Jeff can help. He has the custom build brick red in the S/S.

Let me confirm this on another 22" kettle I have at home.
But the mid section of my 22" WSM fits into the kettle bowl nicely. Want to confirm that the center section I have for my brick red setup has no customization I'm not aware of.
@SixZeroFour has a similar setup himself.
I can absolutely confirm that yes, a 22" WSM middle will fit into a standard 22" kettle bowl. Have been using that set up for years.
The WSM midsection will fit into the kettle bowl but the kettle lids do not fit correctly on the WSM midsection
I have shot at this for cheap brand new.
@terrymo is the lid to small or too big?
The top lip of the 22 WSM midsection is the same diameter and profile as the lip of a kettle lid.
@fedex The WSM shape is basically two kettle bowls and a midsection. The bottom flange of the midsection sits down inside the bottom bowl, and the top bowl/lid sits down inside the top flange of the midsection

That's not my experience. The outside flange of a kettle lid is the same diameter as the outside flange of the mid-section, so they rest on top of each other (meaning the lid does
not rest down inside of the midsection flange). Just got home, and tried 3 different kettle lids on my WSM. That being said, it is possible that either my WSM middle is out of round, or all 3 kettles lids could be out of round, too.
@fedex, just saw you called... was that what you were calling about?
I think we're trying to say the same thing if you look at my post one up from the one you quoted.
less filling!
Tastes great?
Got it. $25.00. I'll make it work.
Just put an old daisy wheel bowl on top. It will look funny but will work. Great score for $25

I actually have one of those on the UDS Pile. Great idea Gummi.
Bonus points if you put a whole OTG assembly (less lid) on top!
That's a steal. Did it come with the door and the grate straps?

It did
Excellent. I had an extra set of grate straps if you needed them but it sounds like you're all set.
