Title: Steak And Mushrooms
Post by: MrHoss on May 11, 2015, 04:57:03 PM
Worked all day to come home and have my wife suggest she take us and her daughter out to a new pub around the corner. I pointed out that I had seen some nice rib steaks on sale at work....and that it would cost far less money. I got to grill boys!!! It was set to rain so onto the front porch I went with a pair of 18's. I have gotten used to using my Black as a chimney station and table for food, the Green one showed up last week courtesy of 604.....that's my wife and her attitude sitting off to the side:

Lowry's on the wife and child's steak and that and Tatonka Dust on mine:

I was running mesquite charcoal. Mushrooms offset and beef over the heat:

Didn't get a plate shot or cross cut shot on the meat. Dinner was better than the lame pub could have provided though. I have more fun with the Kettles too.

That's the wife's thing. She does it well so I get her to do it whenever I can. Pretty sure it is just balsamic vinegar, grape seed oil and whatever seasoning is kicking around. Usually a Greek one is her pick. Whisk all that up then toss the shrooms well in it and let sit for 20 minutes or so before grilling. I cook them of the heat then sear them quick at the end.

When I was single I used that Paul Newman's salad dressing and loved it....the garlic parmesan one.

Nice steaks, nice mushrooms, and I love the dual 18" OTGs!

I've been slicing mushrooms and throwing them in the grill pan but I need to check out the marinade and whole grill. Thanks!
