I was inspired by idahawk. I decided I would use the CI griddle on the 26. Heating the griddle and some corn.

I used a mandolin and sweated the onions following Ida's instructions with salt in a colander. I even used some paper towels to wring out additional water. I pressed the meat onto the onions.

The burgers hit the sizzling griddle, and the aroma couldn't be beat.

Cheddar added and melted. All ready to eat.

Looks good but how many Sculpins did it take to cook ?
Rippin' Good Cook !!!
look at the char on those......nice job & good to see the mix of ideas flowing too !!!!
When I was a kid you couldn't get me anywhere near "visible onions" for the longest time. Now that I know what food actually is, onions are pretty much a part of most anything I do, somewhere.
AND THESE HERE ONION BURGERS YOU GUYS ARE THROWING DOWN LOOK LIKE THE SHIZNIT.

I'm sure the answer is, "as many as was necessary." 8)

If you have an older genesis (3-burner), this same griddle can be used in place of one of the grates. I used it this past Sunday morning to fry up some bacon.
