Date Code of "E". This little lady has been in my garage for a number of years. Finally decided to clean her up a bit. All rust has been cleaned and treated. Banged out some dents the bottom of the lid. And yes, and new leg set and added the ash pan. Used wooden handle I did have on a WSM, the top handle was made just for her!
Now the hard part, what to cook in her for the first time ion a LONG time!

love those handles
That's sharp with the Marty handles !!!
OTG Brownie 18....just not your average everyday kettle.......
I'd vote Cowboy steak for a first cook on a special Brown....... ;D
beautiful kettle you have there sir!
very nice!
Looks nice. I like the addition of the ash bucket. Just switch the legs around to the proper configuration and throw some meat on it!
nice lookin brownie
grate work on the ash bucket addition
my eyes dont like the handles
Grate looking kettle.
Good looking brownie!
very nice brownie!
but yeah, change the legs to the correct sockets please. :D
I was just thinking how badass that brownie would look with the ash can painted Ace Hardware brand "Terra Cotta". Its a dead ringer for the color of the bowl and lid. That would put a nice finishing touch on your updated vintage cooker.
OH AND....
Ideas for first cook...... Sear some steaks and do some "basement potatoes" on that '83 Brave.. 8)
As many of us on here will tell you, the 18.5 kettles do much more than they are given credit for. A meal for four CAN be done regularly on an 18..
