Title: CL pick ups
Post by: aguyindallas on January 04, 2015, 05:14:26 PM
This morning, I was casually surfing Craigslist for "Weber" stuff like we all do from time to time.

I came across a few things of interest. One being a Cajun Bandit Roti. The pics put it in good condition. Asking price was 100.00. I confirmed availability and offered 75.00. I really didn't get much of a response so I email backdating I could head his direction. His reply was a firm 100.00. Ok...I caved in. Not a smoking deal, but a decent deal. On my way over, the seller emailed me back that he had a Kettle Pizza setup in case I was interested. I saw it on CL, but didn't realize it was the same seller.

I was confirmed on the Roti and it was complete. The seller said since I was buying the Roti, he would sell the Kettle Pizza for 200.00, instead of the 250.00 he was asking. Sounds a little high, however, it included a metal peel, a charcoal basket, a pizza steel (steel plate that goes on top of the Pizza kettle and below the lid) and a Kettle Pizza Pro-Grate tombstone setup.

So, 300.00 later, I've got a complete Pizza Kettle setup and Roti setup for the 22.5 that I scored on CL also.

Pics to come soon. Taking any and all advice on Kettle Pizza and Roti cooking!

Sounds to me like you got the Weberitis bad. You are gonna have some fun with that stuff. I did not know about this pizza steel....sounds like a good idea though.

@aguyindallas  Are these the same ads from this link? I forgot these links had been deleted. Did you pick them up in Allen?

My goal this year would be a Cajun Bandit stacker and a Roti. CB products are excellent

Yeah, I am not sure of the mfr of the pizza steel, but he did say it helps with getting to higher temps faster and allows for a faster cooked pizza. We will see. I know I have a LOT to learn about all of this.

Those sound like reasonable prices.  Congrats on the score!

Here are a couple threads using the KP adaptor.  The 2nd one is mine.  I love it:

@minigrillin Yes, every year. We have a boat, so we watch from the water.

I was at last year's 4th. First time there and I'll be going from now on. That was a good time.

We should plan a meet up grillathon.

Yes I do drive a MINI. I have a 05 purple haze JCW.

@minigrillin My wife used to have a 2008 Mini Convert. I'm fairly sure I have some Mini All Weather mats in my garage if you want em.
