Title: First cook on Church donated Ranch Kettle
Post by: LightningBoldtz on October 15, 2014, 10:02:55 AM
So I got a page from my pastor this morning saying he was going to have a cookout for his staff on the Ranch that I donated and wanted to know if I wanted to participate.
Uh, heck yeah

Marinaded strips of pork lion, then sliced up when finished, 16 lbs.  We had Pork tortillas and they were awesome

This is my pastor, huge Weber fan..

Here's a pic of me taking my first jab at cooking on the beast.

Take note the grill grate before

and after (Above)

When I did it I roughly wired the external rust off.  not all the rust was gone, I wiped it with a clean rag and then did two smoking sessions where I would oil the grate and smoke for house.

After doing the first cook I was very pleased with the results.
