That is fantastic. It has a real dark fade on the top.  Is there a small flat area on the bottom? Were  they still spinning the bowls at that time?

These just have the fade on the lid and yes the old 26ers were spun. At least the lids were anyway...

Sweet Chief, Stephen! I see you found a 26 ash pan for it. Very nice!

What a beauty.  May be the lighting but this one does look dark - and I like it!  What a clean kettle!

I'm curious about the slight offset on the front bowl handle, is this standard on the old 26ers? The handle on mine is in the exact same spot as yours.

Perhaps it was a Friday of a long weekend when they were made ;)

I purchased it at Ebay auction.  I traded it to a member.  This member picked up a second Chief and allowed me to buy it back.   :)
