Title: 8/17/14 Ribs - think I got it figured out! - with q-view

Here is my charcoal setup - mini-micro snake

I lit 8 pieces of charcoal and placed where you see.

I had to add 4 pieces of unlit charcoal when I wrapped the ribs @ 3 hours

Here are the final pics and cut into ribs.  These are a little blurry - sorry

nice !!!!

So you got the temps you wanted, came pretty close on the usage estimate, got a pretty nice rendering, great color, just right bone pull-back, super smoke ring, guessing the flavor was right on......

Next Case !!!!!

oh yeah temps - they stayed around 245 except for a spike to 265 when the large chunk started to burn but I closed the lower vent to get the temp down

Nice job on the rib and the mini snake. That is a good way to cook the ribs.

Great looking ribs!  I wouldn't sweat the spikes to much, unless it was running away from you.

ligrill, I've been thinking of a firebrick mini snake hybrid myself, and I think you might have nailed it!

Hope to try this myself soon.

Those look delicious!  I can't wait to try them on my Weber soon.  Thanks for the pics. Will help me a lot on my setup when I get to try it.
