I was very fortunate enough to come across this little gem of a grill. Its never been used, and is close to perfect. There are a few tiny chips on one of the side handles. This is the first brown one I've ever seen. It even has the same mist fade like the kettles do! I think Golly might have a brownie though in his collection. I responded to a Craigslist ad for a moving sale. It listed a new table top Weber charcoal grill. I assume it was probably a black Smokey, but thought I'd ask anyways. The next day I was sent an text with photos of a brown Go Anywhere. I almost hit the floor. I picked it up that same day. The woman that had it bought it at a garage sale a real long time ago. She put it in her shed and forgot about it till getting ready for her sale.

Great pick up! I wonder how many were done in brown? Not many i would think considering how few that have been seen.
Awesome looking grill! And to think before I got into the Itis, I sent one to the landfill. Horrible memory...

Nice work Jeff! Way to chase down a not very promising lead!

I wish, your picture will make me have the nightmares all over again. :'(
I remember it vividly, thus this was prior to my Webertits. It is probably a game
misconduct and fines involved...
You threw a brown GA away????
Year long suspension, violating the sites drug policy! You surely MUST have been on drugs at the time! LOL
Supposedly someone else threw out a '52 before they knew what they had...
Wow!!
The condition of that .. the handles .... the two-tone .. just blows me away! What a find. :D :D
I'll post some additional photos later on. Handles, inside, fade shots, vents, etc.
Wow wow wow. Wow wow wow!!
Epic as anything seen here. Congrats Jeff.
Amazing! Great Find!
Here are some better pics.

One odd thing I noticed...never had a GA to look up close, but one top vent has a "B" on it, the other top vent has "B" and a "D"

Thanks for looking guys.
That's just an awesome brownie GA. So one of the vents is a B with a D? Interesting.
What an amazing find. Congrats Jeff. This has got to be one of the best finds of the year. :)
Love the fade. Super nice score Jeff!
" the other top vent has "B" and a "D"
It's A DEMO !!!
You found a DEMO G. A. !!!!!!!!!
That fade takes my breath away. Mmmmmm.
Wow, that thing is BEAUTIFUL Thanks for the pics! ;D
Go home top vent, you're drunk!

Thanks Dan! I think I
might put this find a little bit behind the Westerners....but ONLY a little bit! :)
Wow that is awesome. Nothing like that nice ever pops up around my area. A brownie Go Anywhere would be great. Only thing I would like more would be a blue one or one of each. Lol
That's a great find. Incredible really.
With one vent a B and the other a B and D, one has to assume it wasn't boxed for sale until '82, right?
I have a WSM with 2 of the vents stamped C and 2 others stamped C and D. Not sure what's up with that.
I am guessing the vent codes were a carryover from a previous year. I wonder what day they switch? Is it Dec 31? Hmm.. Either way its an awesome find. Its probably the only 2 tone fade GA we'll see for a while.. 8)

I have an 'A' code CGA... both vents simply stamped w/ the 'A'. I haven't seen a dual letter vent code prior to Jeff's brownie fade.
This thread (http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/weber-kettles-accessories/cga-and-gga/msg55504/#msg55504) has some catalog pics... it was originally available in black, red, and "chocolate". Nothing about a fade, though...

Thanks Bob. The mystery thickens! So Greg is the only person to have seen a Coppermist or "Brownie" GA like this one?
We almost need a thread for GA's by themselves. I know the Aussies boys have some other ones. Blue, Grey, Red. I've seen photos once of a dark green one.

I will step out of the penalty box for a moment. Jeff mine was also a mist, hard to forget. These must be a gem, as I was told at one time, it
did not exist. At least now it is verified with more than just my remembered visual.
Greg...who told you it didn't exist? Anyone of reputable credentials?
So Greg...tell us about that day at the Landfill. The last day you held your Brownie Coppermist fade GA before the abandoning her. Did you set her down on top of an old, cracked porcelain sink? Did you turn and look back at her while walking away...or just make a clean, painless break from that poor gem? Go ahead...tell us about it. We're here for you! :)

Not sure my insurance will cover the therapy rehashing this. Had a storm hammer our home. Well the dumpster was there, bride had me do some
house cleaning. Needless to say(Pre-Weberitis) It went in and out of the dumpster. I had it my possession at least 20+ years. It made many moves with me and very limited cooks. Always have had a black 22. Wife gave me the three year ruling, it had not been used... Now off to therapy!

Next time, just hide it behind the seat of the truck & save thousands on therapy............ 8)

LOL! That ruling now, does not apply to Weber grills. Now, "It's what are you going to do with this one or When did you sneak this one in." ;)
Not really a fan of the browns but looking at that GA with the wood handles complimenting the 2 tones of brown.....that flippin' thing is gorgeous!!! I'd have that in a second...and even consider not cooking on it as it looks that good.
I'm a weirdo for browns. I love them! Almost as much as red. Pre Weberitis, I didn't know brown anything Weber existed but somehow I wasn't surprised to learn that Weber made kettles/portables and even some Gassers in this color. I was surprised to find out that the color was made for as long as it was. I originally figured it to be a 60s/70s only color. The "newest" brown kettle I had ever seen was an N code 22. As I recall it belongs to/belonged to Ken Mc? There didn't seem to be much of a fade on it. Seems the fade/misting got lesser and lesser in the later years. I had heard of the brown GA existing early in this hobby but had never seen one until Jeff got this one. Hey Jeff, you don't like Browns, do you? ;)
I pointed out to Brian the b and d marks on the vents at the meetup...interesting.
I'm late to the party, but that is an awesome looking grill! Congrats!
Even later... Congrats! That GA is awesome....and they made blue ones??!!!
Crap, the list of must-haves grows by the hour! :D
