...I decided that what I was going to cook in Elgin was going to be our supper.
A chimney of lit charcoal went in one of the 40 year old rat rods, then the vintage Coulee Pan went on.
I added some peanut oil and when it was good and hot tossed in some thinly sliced flank steak for a little sear. Pulled it out while it was still red and set it aside.
A little more peanut oil and when it was good and hot, in went the veggies: Bok choy, onions, peppers, bean sprouts, garlic. A little sea salt, red pepper flakes, Southern Flavor seasoning, and hoisin sauce followed.
When the veggies were about done, in went the meat to finish.
Served it over jasmine rice. Mine got a little sriracha sauce.
Oh.Mah.Gawd.
It was so good, I was secretly a little happy the meet up got canceled!
Man, that description alone doesn't even need a photo......I could taste it !!!!
Sounds like I need to make the next meet up you're at thats for sure!
Sounds like a successful practice run for the meet!
