My boys found this EE green OTS on the curb a few weeks back and I have been slowly bringing her back to life. The kettle was in pretty good shape when my boys found her. Just needed new handles, charcoal grate and wheels so those parts were ordered from Weber. I have a wooden deck so I felt the need to convert it to a OTG so that I could safely contain any embers or charcoal that can potentially fall through. I used the screw in method that I saw in one of the restore threads and it made for a very secure ash catcher setup. I'm quite pleased with how this restore & conversion went. Can't wait to cook something on her.

Looks great! I'd cook on that any day.
Outstanding!
I definitely like this darker green as compared to the green that was recently offered.
Fantastic save/restore. That's a keeper for sure! Nice work.
Nice work on that rehab. Is it safe to assume the screws help hold the legs in? 8)

The legs were a bit loose when I put then back in after a quick cleanup and polish. However, the screws main purpose is to hold up the new style ash pan for which this older kettle's leg socket didn't support. In doing so, the screws also do a great job in securing he legs to the socket.

The kettle is in pretty good shape. Can't believe someone had kicked it to the curb. I should print a picture of what it looks like now and put it in that neighbor's mailbox. The only real scars it had were these deep grooves on the lip of the bowl. Almost looks like the prev owner kept banging his grilling tongs on the lip of the bowl in the same spot and caused the indentation/gouges.

Tou, awesome job! Hopefully your boys will take up the hobby, you are certainly showing them the right way to do it.
