I don't know my gassers.

Is this the same, but newer?  I think this is a Genesis Gold.

I'm interested in info, year s etc of the top one.

Thanks.

Both Genesis. Top one is 2000 or 3000? series, due to the longer frame + sideburner (or extra table). "Skinny" knobs and "Durawood" slats say mid-late '90s. The Gold or whatever is only a few years newer, 2000-ish or so. The knobs got fatter, contoured and off course Thermoset tables and (sometimes) SS lid. It's my understanding most, if not all, critical parts are the same.

I like that SS front panel on the Gold.

My '97 900 still had wood for the lid handle (and wood slats) and that one's got the metal handle that's styled like the wood? Let's call it '99 or so, but I really don't know when the main changeover occurred to the next era.

Thanks.

Are these good gassers?  The red one is free in Victoria.  I'd consider grabbing it if it was close.

Are cart dimensions similar to or the same as SSP?  Are frame parts interchangeable with SSP?

I'm wondering if frame connectors are the same size on the 2000/3000 and the SSP.

Would that SS front panel fit an SSP?

I got the Genesis Gold, can't read the sticker with the Model# and year, pre-owner said he bought it around 2003-2004. I love my Genesis Gold, it works perfect. The SS lid should fit as long as they both have 3 burners!

Thanks.

Thanks. I'm actually wondering if the frame connectors and SS front panel parts are interchangeable with my charcoal Performer, not each other.

When you say "frame connectors", are you talking about the cross member bars ?    I have both a Genny Gold B exactly like the one pictured above and an SSP sitting in my driveway.  I can measure both frames a little later today.

It's a Weber Genesis 3000 and its the top of the line Platinum model.
The Platinum model had stainless flavourisors and Durawood handle and shelves.

Yes, it's an awesome grill. Some would argue better than a new Weber.

I want to say the red one is a 3000. But it has the Platinum Series logo on the lid. I had a Blue one but it didn't have the duraframe slats. The best way to tell is to look for the model # under the control panel. Then you could scan through the the Weber Schematics and find out for sure.

I was under the impression that the 2000-3000 and Genesis parts were interchangeable, but I'm finding lids/fireboxes the don't match as well as burner tubes.

@ClubChapin You asked in an earlier post if the connectors from a Genesis would fit the Performer and I measured the ones I was RRR'ing and replied to that post with the measurements and that they would not fit.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if you measured the same as I've pictured here.  I do know there are gasses that look similar, but with shorter carts.

I just saw these on the local CL and was reinspired.

Were they too short?

I presume then the front panel also will not fit an SSP.

I took a look around at some of my gasser frames and the bottom frame tubes are either 23" or 24" long. I just restored a Genesis that had one of the star nuts rusted out (23" tube) and did the all-thread/acorn nut fix. Its pretty solid.

The Performer bottom tube frames are 33". Sorry nothing that long here at the Bone Shack!

Did you scoop up that $80 Black Performer off Seattle/CL yesterday @ClubChapin?

Chapin,

The SS front panel on the Genesis can probably be made to fit as it's slightly longer than the front panel piece on an SSP.

Mine is a 2004 Genesis gold bought new when we moved into our house.  At some point they replaced the wire bottom with a solid frame. I actually like the frame aka SS performer, but this one still cooks like the day it was new. We also use the side burner a lot - it puts out a ton of heat!

How can the Front panel be longer than on the SSP and the Frame connectors be 10" shorter?

I'd guess that the grill frames that swamprb has laying around are from smaller form factor grills.

Take another look at the Genny Gold B that you posted (the one with the SS lid) and also the grill the Bbqmiller posted.  There are 2 grates inside the cookbox of the grill and each of those grates are about 11 3/4 inches wide.  That makes the lower firebox alone to be roughly just under 24 inches from left to right.   Clearly, the SS piece is longer than that.

My day is pretty packed tomorrow, but I'll try to get some pics with a measuring tape

I made my own stainless front panel for my Genesis 2000. That long front panel tends to rust as the lower lip holds
 water.

@ClubChapin

Here's a pic showing the length of the SSP. ~35.25

Here's the length of my Gold C.   ~36.5 inches
(http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/ss209/Demosthenes9/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-05/IMG_20160527_144753.jpg)

Both front panels in question run just about from edge to edge, stopping perhaps 1/8th of an inch short on each end.    Ends are flat, meaning that they don't wrap around the uprights.      Looks like you should be able to cut ~1.25 inches off the Genny gold panel and drop it in.

As for the connectors, on the Genny's that I have, those pieces are welded. to the uprights.

I've got a couple frames in the boneyard one is a single truss that is 23", and another thats a dual truss bottom frame that is 24". My Pellet Poopin' Kettle is on a dual truss 24" while my HotRod Coffee Roaster is a single truss 24" frame. They were 1000 frames to the best of my knowledge.

Measured my Genesis Silver C and its dual truss bottom frame pieces are 34"

The dual bottom truss frame pieces on my 2 SSP's are 33"

I had a 3000 frame that looked to pre-date the Red Platinum Series in the link

If it was closer I think you might be able to make it work. :-\

I'm not really up to date on the 1000/Genesis series but I have had a couple colored lids I swapped out with black ones only to find they didn't fit the ones I was replacing
