Ladies, gentlemen, and the rest of you too
Welcome to the first annual WKC Secret Santa!
We'll exchange names and do a little gift swap.
- $20 minimum
- sign up deadline: Dec 12, 5pm PST
- I'll hand out secret santa names same day
- ship by Christmas
- we'll all reveal what we have received here in the forums for fun
- US & Canada only (sorry Aussies, After 3 lost shirts and 2 lost handles, I'm scared of the catastrophe. Feel free to org an Aussie only one!)
If you IN, post a short description of what you're into other than bbq and grilling. Be as ambiguous or descriptive as you'd like. (or don't share any details)

edit for description-aside from grilling and bbq'ing, my main interests are star wars, doctor who, new York giants and shooting/hunting/fishing.

If $20 is the minimum, what is the maximum?
Need @SixZeroFour @mrbill and @Craig to "post a short description of what you're into other than bbq and grilling. Be as ambiguous or descriptive as you'd like." Its in the rules :)
As for myself, I am in. I like all cooking/food related things - especially regional items that I would not normally come across here in NorCal.

My other hobby outside of kettle world is golf. Which I haven't gotten to play hardly at all this year. :(

BTW - I've been out of pocket a lot lately - work has been non-stop, and a wayward relative has demanded more attention (and a temporary home) longer than I hoped. Here's hoping the new year gives me a break now and then - I miss the old WKC!

I'm a little late to the party but I like food, nerdy stuff, tools, Giordano's deep dish pizza, Portillos, coffee, sweat wicking boxer briefs, candy, bbq, and long walks under the moonlight. :P

My shipment will be there on the 26th as well. I shipped today and they said it would be $22 to get it there by xmus eve. Or $6 to get it there on Friday. So it will arrive on boxing day.

I've been in love with that stuff for years, ever since my wife brought me some from France.
Smoke some ribs with a salt free rub and sprinkle some of that on after the glaze is set. It's magical, and its actually a secret weapon of many winning bbq teams.

Currently I am sitting here stuffing my face with the most amazing candied almonds that I have ever tasted... for two reasons. 1) My wife will be home in T-minus 30 min and I need to get my ration before they all disappear completely! and 2) Straight-up, these should be classified as a narcotic. I cant stop! ;D
Also included in this stash of goodies was a weber style tool holder, some 7402 charcoal rails, and a SWEET weber fish basket accessory. Oh and last but not least some homemade smoked sea salt!

Ok well now that I have opened my eyes a little wider that God gave me and after pulling my head out of my rear end, I realized that my gift is from ICARRY! Thank you very much again and I plan to cook it up this weekend with the family. Merry Christmas!

Marty - I understand that piece was hand-forged by one of Santa's Blacksmith elves just for you. The bar across the middle is designed to give your hand leverage to lift whole D.O.s by the bail. Enjoy!

Thanks a ton Winz - I may have to get in touch with this guy elf myself for a few things. There's a blacksmith in a town nearby me here in PA that has done some cool things for me, but I don't think he forges iron like this. Hope to put it to work soon.

I have been wanting to get an ir thermo for a while. I really like the kebab rack. Perfect size for portability as you mentioned and for routine cooks for the family. I think the rack will fit nicely on a 18.5 in kettle.

I didn't look close but I'm thinking those planks might be some of that legendary Idaho Cedar....Thanks again. Can't wait until next year!

My sister in law got it. No original box but it was described as a "Giant Round Grill Weber/ Char Broil barbecue Cast Iron Griddle
21 1/2" Diameter at the rim and 18" diameter cooking space, 1 1/2 deep.
Bottom reads GH-P5817B
Weighs18lbs fits like a glove and these vents around the perimeter help it breath nicely with the lid on. I am pumped to have this. Other than the part number I don't know the original manufacturer yet. But this thing is farking awesome!
I may have to try a pan pizza or some Asian cooking on this thing in addition to breakfast food.

Glad it finally got there. This place is on par with Penzey's. I am happy a shop opened up close about a year or so ago. I am slowly backfilling my spices from this place.
