I was driving to work a few minutes after 9 am and saw a big "Garage Sale" sign up ahead. I slowed a little to take a look as I went by, they had just opened. There in the driveway stood a WSM. I wasn't sure which one but I slowed way down and did a U turn ASAP. Parked in their drive, got out and walked up to take a closer look.
A 22" WSM on caster wheels, 2 half bags of charcoal, most of a large bag of apple wood chunks, a cover, a charcoal starter--AND a complete IQ-120 Air Controller. I quickly add up everything in my head (over $600 new) and crap my pants when I see the price :o...$50.00 I quickly paid for it and loaded up. It needs a little clean-up but otherwise it's in great shape.
The only thing I don't understand is there is NO DATE CODE on the top vent. Can someone tell me what that means?

IQ120

Awesome score, can you see a faint serial number on the top vent, a couple of letters and then numbers ?
-
I used my 100W trouble light and looked at it from every angle, can't see a thing.
-
I'm no WSM expert, maybe one of the other guys can chime in on date code
-
Amazing deal - congrats!
Lack of date code/serial # on the lid vent could indicate that it is a warranty replacement lid. I've had a couple of lids replaced under warranty that have blank vents.

Nice score! I love my IQ110 haven't used on my wsm yet just the kettle, check out this video I reccomend this for wet days.

Check the lower vents too. My 2011 AA code has them on all vents, and yours has the temp probe grommet so its at least a 2013.

I'm still waiting to find one for under 100. You got the deal with the pitmaster for sure

No date code for a newer WSM usually indicates a warrantied part. So the lid was probably replaced by Weber Customer Service sometime back.

Wowzers! What a find
