Hello all, just asking if all of you could wish the best of luck for a great friend of mine “Dave” that just found out he has spinal cancer. This guy has taught me more about cooking than anyone I have known. He is now unable to even lift 10Lbs.
I know he loves to BBQ so I offered to cook him up some pork shoulder he had in his freezer. He had bought this 1 week before finding out. He said that would be great. So today being a slow day I took it off to BBQ him up a 10Lb pork shoulder. My plan is to pull, then vacuum seal the majority of the shoulder into even bag as he lives by himself. His wife pasted a couple of years back from GD! Cancer!
I put the shoulder on at 12:30 CST and plan to pull it off about 9:30 -10:00PM tonight. I spay with a mix of Apple Juice, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Beer every 1.5hrs; I’ll pull it around 11:00 then let it cool some more before going into the refrigerator overnight; last but not least I’ll vacuum seal the portions in the morning.
I hope this turns out as good as my others!

I want to post some more pictures but photobucket.com SUCKS!
Please Say a Little Prayer for him.
Thanks
Dan

Thoughts and prayers sent. He will enjoy the pork butt. That would be very special to me for a friend to make what I love. I'm sure he feels the same and nice work.

Hello all, I would like to say thanks to everyone! I told Dave about all the responses and he said thanks and said I have a bunch of great guys in our group. This I know👍
The shoulder is coming along well. Had a stall for a bit but in its smallest part is 180 and thickest part 165. I think about 1.5hrs and should be good.

Many Prayers being sent up.
