Here is my known oldest grill. The Galley Que. 1960 about or so. I do have a red 22 Wooddale that's in restoration, but not sure if its older than 1960. Craig would know for sure!

somewhere around 1975, and possibly in the best shape of any kettle i own. i like the mojo though, it gives them personality and char-actor. ;)
i'm fixing up my neighbor's 69-70 but he hasn't said it's mine yet. i will wear him down so long as he stays the hell off of craigslist...

Plastic wheels, small bowl tabs, if patent number, most likely 1972-74. Sweet red!! :D

I'm pretty sure this is my oldest. Patent Pending Avocado. My son bought it for me for Fathers Day 2013. It looks a lot better now that it's all cleaned up and restored.

so '72-74 then? and thanks! :D

1957/58 according to Don the original owner. Square tabs on the bowl vents makes this an early Wood Dale. The original legs, triangle and ash pan were black. Don was an external accountant for Weber Bros Metal Works. He said this is how he picked up the grill off the assembly line (nothing was altered). I put on an extra set of wood dale era legs and wheels. Still have the original legs, wheels and triangle saved. Will strip the ash pan back to its original color at some point.

Not too old compared to you guys, but Troy (dwnthehatch), kindly sold me this SJ from 1989 at a more than fair price! Thanks, Troy!!!! I had the grates soaking to clean them up in this pic, but suffice to say, the grill is in pristine condition.

I use it every week. I just picked up a performer from Alvin, so the demo might get put away for the winter. I have to preserve it for my kids.

The performer package?!?!? If so, that's a sweet setup

He gave me a special WKC price so I couldn't take the extras too.

Alvin is the man! And in the interest off keeping this thread on-topic here is mine. Late 60's I think.

My oldest I think. Can somebody help with dating, model, I don't think ash catcher is correct but I don't know for sure. Good shape I will eventually get it cleaned up. Older than any I have, my WAG is mid to late 60s.
The ash pan is not correct. It's a late 70s early 80s ash pan.
Nice specimen BTW.
-
that's really cool max!
-
@MadMax that's a sweet Woodie! The ash pan is a '79-86 rolled edge twist. Yours is like mine in terms of age, 1962-63ish. Mine is wearing a '64-'79 straight edge twist. I think yours and mine and Jeff's originally came with the U cutouts with the clips..
-
That is sweet Max! That will clean up very nice. It looks like an 18 ash pan. Still an awesome grill.
-
@MadMax if you don't want to use a twist style you can always do something like this and give it a '50s look and feel..
