Title: Don't Be Me
Post by: jdorn on October 16, 2017, 06:10:49 PM: While cooking a skirt steak on my kettle and making french fries in a cast iron pan inside I got distracted. The steak was not getting cooked the way I wanted it. I focused my energy on the steak... big mistake.... a fire started in my kitchen on the stove top... 2 feet high... once I got steak off, I turned around. FIRE!! ! Is that real? was my first reaction... yep, it was. I left the perfectly cooked steak and ran to the kitchen to see what I could do. After working in numerous restaurants I knew better than to try and put it out with water. I was able to get it out and called 911... I was able to save my home, saved the steak... but f'd up royally... don't be me... pay attention to oil. DON'T LEAVE IT UN ATTENDED!!! EVER!!! I'm out of work for the next month as I recieved 3rd degree burns on my hands and arms... thankfully no one died...
