Title: Weber vs Traeger
Post by: AZogas on August 04, 2018, 09:37:30 AM
I'm going to bbq 3-2-1 ribs on my 26er with a 3x2 snake and another rack on my traeger.  Both methods should be set n forget.   I have a feeling Weber will taste better.

I just ran a 2x1 snake in the 26 and it was plenty. If your doing 3-2-1 I would recommend slimming your snake. Fat snakes are for winter

Weber won the competition but traeger could have been better with spare rib or lower temp

Weber on left.   Traeger on right.   More details on the Weber Kettle Club Grill Giants page.   I'll update this post with more details later though

I normally run a 2x2x1 in cooler weather and a 2x1 in warm weather. A 2x1 is normally a little light in a 26 but it’s been so hot that I still had to check both vents back and it rolled a steady 225 and could have run 275 with vents open. It’s worth practicing and learning the nuances of the snake because once dialed, it’s really set and forget.

Yes they were.   I may try the same test on chicken thighs and drumsticks tomorrow
