Title: (Lid) Thermo debate (analog only)
Post by: LiquidOcelot on July 01, 2020, 04:05:00 PM
Everyone has their take in this and I think it would be fun discussion. I wanna add lid thermos to my grills, I know the standard weber placement isn't "accurate" perse but more of a reference of temperature.

So here's the question , what thermo do you prefer and where is the most accurate location to place it.

I'm sure everyone has read something about it and I'm sure people who are new have the same question.

Me personally like the standard weber thermo and bezel, anywhere on the lid.

Whats you take?

Tel-tru BQ100 is my favorite that fits in the Weber bezel

I’d think about how you most commonly build your fire and where you position your lid vent and just try to find a place for the thermometer that isn’t directly above the fire.
That way you’d probably get closer to an ambient overall temp and not the temp directly above the coals
