Title: Where'd the recipes go?
Post by: Ted B on September 14, 2013, 10:03:33 AM
I came looking for Duke's blueberry slump recipe and its gone! :-\  The recipe section shows empty.  Did I miss a move here?  Are they still available some where?

In the recipe section.  Other than that, I'm keeping my trap shut.   :-X

Where'd the recipes go?

I was wondering that, too ... There was once "Other Recipes".
I posted the Sweet Pickled Shallots in that one ... now it's in "Recipes",
which is described as "All your grilling and bbq recipes here!" Now, I'm not sure if it qualifies ..  ??? ???

So we threw them all in one spot?  Seems kinda inconvenient. Tried searching for it and nothing. Found it now thanks to a quiet BMan.

The Recipe Section has been consolidated into the “Food, BBQ, & Grilling” Forum section. Member feedback asked for more recipe discussion so we hope that having more traffic in one forum will increase interest and discussion.

C'mon Ted, get with the program.  The thought is if you have a bunch of change arranged by category, that dumping all the coins into a bucket will somehow spark MORE money!  All the while having to wade through a bunch of stuff you aren't looking for while searching for that 1 coin...   ::)

I appreciate you taking notice, and the sarcasm.

In reality - all of the categories were very slow.
very. slow.

There were 5 or 6 of them, as I recall, each with < 20 topics total. Several had less than 10.
At a glance, it was a boneyard. A ghost town. There was very little new content. Clearly, the recipe section is not the heart of the community.

members are favoring the gallery / food porn instead.

We're working on a better solution that will hold recipe data and connect it with galleries and be searchable and sortable without cluttering up the forums interface.

This made me laugh. Thanks for the funny comment, Bman. If your change is all over the place where you would never look then how could you use it? At least if it was all in one spot people can comment on how much change you have! lol

Ted, Sorry that your bookmarks may have gotten modified a bit but hopefully it's a step in the right direction.

Bookmarks should still work. The old urls redirect to the new ones.

I'm looking into the search issue now.

The search function isn't picking up the original thread because the original thread has quotes around it. ("slump"!)

silly, IMO.
