Title: Wooden weber side table
Post by: Bbqmiller on August 10, 2013, 12:15:55 PM
Picked this up today along with some other items for the red 18 I recently acquired.

The store also had a large circular, cast iron griddle for a 22 in kettle. Never seen one of these. It had two handles. May have to go back and get it. Didn't want to bring too much back so the wife wouldn't notice :)

Bbq....turn around and grab that griddle.  That's got to be old stock.

I will plan on going back and grabbing it. This store may have other hidden treasures. For example, they had some old covers for the 18.5 in performer that they sold sometime ago.
Wondered if the full griddle would choke the fire. I don't suppose anyone here has one and has used it.

Thanks I did find this pizza thread where Brian had a pic of it. It is exactly like the one he shows in the ring.

Wives don't notice accessories and parts being accumulated like when you accumulate grills, did you get that griddle yet? ;D

This is true. She would never question a Maverick or a PitmasterIQ, because, they can't be that expensive. They are just thermometers, like the ones at Walmart.

Well, I went back and got the griddle. Couldn't resist and picked up two more NIB wooden side tables and two of the old style tool holders. It was all retail, but these are some cool items that are NLA. I am sure I will visit the place when I need a grate or cover. I like to support these small shops.

Will have to get some pointers from Brian.

Well done! I wish they still made these!

Small stores rule! I could spend hours in one looking for old or obscure parts Weber or otherwise. I found my NOS all brass head Rain Bird 35-PJ sprinkler head at one and those haven't been made in almost 30 years.

Oh and the staff is always friendlier...

Nice Griddle! Did they have anymore?

I didn't see anymore, but that doesn't mean there isn't another one in there.
This was mixed in with all different kinds of grates and such. The store also carries brands such as wolf, lynx, and dcs. This was a pile from all different makes.
I will be going back - definitely a good place to pick old grill stuff.

I agree - I would much rather buy stuff from these guys rather than the big box stores. They also had the big bags of Royal oak lump (made in the USA). I have had trouble finding this stuff around me.

Good score. I'd love to get my hands on one of those wooden side tables, I just have no clue where to look.

Hi AJ,
It had a sticker - paid full retail whenever the hand made tag was put on - $49.99. Not real cheap, but less than what I paid for a 15 in lodge CI skillet.

Mike, you've been had! That's the less desireable Webber model. You keep an eye out for a Weber one and I'll take this one off your hands for a nominal fee. :)

Good catch Ken - this griddle was in a pile of grates/griddles of various kinds (lynx/mhp/dcs/weber, etc.). I will plan on going back to this store. Maybe next time, I will ask the owner if they have any surplus/old stock up in an attic and/or basement. I did see a closet type of storage area in the back of the store. Haven't dug around in there yet :)

Did find a NIB SS wok at a different store the same weekend picking this place. I have one of those, I think it was priced at around $45 or so if anyone is interested.

Is that the new style one or the older larger one?

It is the newer one like this

How much were these 1800 side tables sold for at retail back in the day?  I just bought a NIB from eBay for $28.99 + s/h. Was that a good deal?

Depending on the cost of shipping, that's a pretty decent deal. Ereplacementparts.com had a NIB one available (might still be). I believe it was going to be $50+ including shipping.

I think that is close to original retail when they were last available.
