Title: Friday night comfort food
Post by: Scott Zee on October 23, 2016, 12:54:19 PM
Friday seemed like a good day for some good old comfort food. I used this recipe http://www.weber.com/weber-nation/blog/grilled-meatloaf-for-dinner
adjusting the ingredients for 2.25 lbs ground chuck and 1.25 lbs ground pork and I used plain breadcrumbs instead of crackers(less salt). I added 1 diced green pepper along with the onion and saute'd together.
Made some roasted garlic mashed potatoes and homemade mushroom gravy. Added a can of corn to complete the plate. *I didn't do the bbq sauce in the recipe opting for gravy instead.  :D

Into a preheated cast iron roasting pan (to save the dripping for my gravy) and cooked indirect @350ish with a couple chunks of hickory for smoke

An hour and 20 minutes later (155* internal) and off to rest

Sliced (perfect amount of smoke)

Plated

@TheDude   Two Brothers is a local brewery up here in Warrenville, IL. Most every one of their brews I've tried has been fabulous and the Atom Smasher Oak Aged Oktoberfest is no exception, 7.7% and 22.6 IBU Marzen style lager.

@TheDude  Bottles, of, some cans as well...trades I'm always up for...where are you located?? Not sure about shipping but maybe we can make it work. Atom Smasher.is a seasonal and I'm not sure ill be able to find it. I'd Have to hunt a little but their nonseasonals are always available. Their "Wobble" IPA is one of my favorites
