Had these tritip pics in my photobucket, and have been meaning to post. Got a Costco Tritip and wanted to go Tatonka Dust only to a mid-rare.

Cut into thirds with the grain. Then took each third and sliced up across the grain

Liking the Tatonka Dust on the TriTips

A buddy of mine gave me a whole PRIME NY Strip. So I cut it into about 8 steaks and food saved them. The wife asked for chicken breast, so I decided to take the end-cut off the Strip and cook that up for me. I used my smoked sweet pepper rub for the chix brest. Vortexed it. I coulda pulled steak sooner but it tasted great nonetheless.

How are you liking the Vortex?  I'm really tempted to get one myself.

I'm convinced if you get a T-tip seasoned & juiced correctly, you could cook it in a microwave & it would still come out OK..... 8)

PS: Don't test me.............. ;D

I'd take Tri Tip on a gasser any day over no Tri Tip at all 8) And I LOVE that glowing Vortex pic, I might have to change my avatar!

Don't see why it wouldn't Joel. I have one (a vortex that is), let me know what dimensions you need to confirm.

Thanks Ken,
The distance between the charcoal grate and the top of the cooking grate is 5 1/2 in my kettle where in my 26er it's about 5in.
How much fuel does it hold... A full chimney?
How much was postage Ken?

I will check the height tonight mate.

I haven't used it yet (ended up doing a roti chicken so used the baskets) but it looks like it will hold more than a full heatbeads chimney.
Postage was $45! :-[
