Start of vacation cook
« on: August 20, 2013, 07:33:16 PM »
So I am off the rest of the week for my sister in law's wedding and the many associated family events. The last few days of drinking, smoking cigars, and eating has been fun, but with work it was draining me. Now that my time off has started, I decided to play with my new Maverick and Pitmaster IQ.

More pics and data to follow.

Clear night, no wind, 70 degrees. Going to make a removable nipple for sure for the pitmaster IQ. The dog dish is weird for me on the SJG.

My pitmaster iq barb adapter melted shut during the cook and I slept through my alarm. I woke up and the meat was at 145 so I finished it in the oven.

Still good though. Forgot to take a finished pic.

My pitmaster iq barb adapter melted shut during the cook

Wanted to give you guys an update. I melted another barb adapter at hunting camp, and went out trying to find a metal one. The stainless ones are really expensive but I found this bad Larry at Home Depot. I was looking for a coupe spare conduit nuts for the barb adapter as I lost one, and I saw this water proof conduit NPT to pipe adapter.
