Wait a minute! Then breaded and fried? Holy shit! I need a fryer now. Share the batter, how did you fry em? Ive always wanted to but never done any deep frying.

Those look killer!

I just used some generic batter I got at the store, The next time I would use a batter that has more flavor to it like a beer batter or something....this was just something to try to see if I liked it. After you cook them indirect at a low to medium temp, pull them off the grill and let cool to room temperature. When they have cooled ...batter them and deep fry for a few minutes until golden brown. It takes ( at least) two slices of bacon per ring.  If you don't have a fryer you can use a deep pan or pot.....just bring the oil up to 350-375 degrees and drop them in.

That is out of the BOX! Thanks for sharing. I would also like to know the batter. I have used a boxed one that is pretty good.

Looks delicious!. Could you please point me in the direction of the recipe? Keen to have a go at these, although I probably shouldn't have too many, the wife has been known to throw the word "divorce" around after I've eaten onion rings.

DAYUM!  Looks great.  Mmmmmm....Bacon!

FWIW - A beer batter is really easy.  Just whisk flour and beer together.  I make onion rings all the time using it.
