Beer can chicken.
« on: September 16, 2013, 05:00:49 PM »
A mate put me onto this.  At first I was a bit dubious, but gave it a crack anyway.

I had to cut down a can, as the Guinness can was too tall for the lid to close.  It came out a treat and was steamed on the inside as well as roasted on the outside.

Cheer,

Dave.

I like beer can chicken. I do it when my wife asks for it(she calls it butt chicken). However, I've found that brining overnight then smoking w/o a can produces a slightly better result, but less impressive on the presentation. that being said, looks like you nailed it and sure to have been a great meal!

Thanks, that sounds good too!

I also like the beer can chicken because you almost have to force down the rest of the six pack while the chook cooks!  ;)

one of the reasons I like it is when the wife asks for it, she doesn't get mad at me for buying/drinking beer  ;D
