Tried using the search bar with some different keywords, but I was not able to find anything. For those with just a kettle, where do you guys put the lid when you take it off? I rarely have a table set up. I feel like I'd scratch up the  rim of the lid if I just place it on the concrete ground. Mine does not hook onto the grill, unless I am doing something wrong.

I hang mine on the kettle. There is a little angle bracket inside the lid that hangs on the lip of the bottom. You could also buy a hang on slide aside lid holder.

This is the built in hanger from the factory.

I have a bad habit of setting them on top of the next kettle.....trying to break myself of this action..... :(

It's really hard on the handles & just plain dangerous....they can fall off......unsound method that I hope no one gets into.......you might be missing the lid hook, the welds do pop off sometimes.....it's lined up right next to the vent inside & hooks on the lip of the bowl like in Ed's photo ( nice 'Turds, ED !!)

I use a small bar stool the lid hugs the round top of the stool and don't have to worry about it falling off...a friend was throwing it in the trash so no need to worry if it gets greesey

I use the Slide aside for the oldies and the lid bale I just put on for my OTS to OTG project kettle. The factory hooks can be hit or miss on the vintage kettles. Some secure well, others barely hook/hang on by a thread.

When using the rotisserie or Cajun Bandit conversion on the performer, I just set the lid on a chimney starter.
