another last minute job
« on: September 27, 2013, 10:40:55 PM »
Another last minute job, have started cleaning my 57 and as ya do, felt the urge to light some coals, so once again, joe came out to play.

The 57 is coming up a treat so far.

Anyway, back to cooking.

Wings are a must, have got my sauce spot on but am still struggling with the dry rub, just the sauce tonight, will play with the rub at the w/end.

Not done a steak yet so whilst getting my wings I picked up two club’s, they are going to be simply done with a bit of pepper and salt.

I also picked up a whole bird, that was leathered with garlic and herb butter and will be used on some chilli wraps later on.

Bird just about to come off, wings just startin.

The garlic bread is, along with wings, a must, and we always have a few various bits of bread in the freezer and a block of cheese to hand.

Now yesterday, the missus did us some new potatoes, par boiled then finished in the oven, crushed with bacon and herbs and covered in cheese, so I decided to use the leftovers to make some kind of hash, it’s got bacon and cheese so it’s got to be good.

And after

The steak was my disappointment, I simply overcooked it, but I guess the dog is going to be happy with it. :)

Wasn,t a bad cook, I let my temps fall due to not topping up the coals on time, but no big deal really it all turned out good in the end bar.

The 57 has got to fired up soon though, it simply has to be done.

till next time.

I need a red head in my life, and a roti ring.

Golly
