Newer. Taller. Blacker. Grabbed a deal this morning thanks to Bman's tip last week. Fit in the back of the family truckster nicely, with only the wheels removed. (on the Performer that is)

Used twice, and never with the gas assist. The guy bought a chimney (never used it) and 2 bags of Competition Kinsgsford when he got the grill (used half a bag, and half a can of lighter fluid) and must have done a couple cooks and threw in the towel. His wife said he almost set it on the curb last week. Also came with three unused gas tanks.

This will clean up in a jiffy, and give me time to strip down the red SS for a more serious rehab. I really like this design, and will do a proper family picture soon. Thanks again Bman - this one was on my wish list, and the true spirit of the WKC came through again.

Nice find. She looks to be in great shape.
A Wonderful Family!!!

FYI - just measured to be sure. The SS height to the top lip of the bowl (lid removed) is 30.5 inches. The "new" performer is 3.5 inches taller, a full 34"! At 6'3" that's a really nice upgrade for me.

Nice pickup Marty - and thanks to Bman for being so helpful!
Not everyone deserves to know the real you. Let them criticize who they think you are.

Great Score Marty... And it's in your colour
I have the same performer and love it , it's my main cooker
Love the extra height too. Even though I'm a short ass
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

Glad you got it, Marty.  (I did receive your email --- no worries.  We're all family here and it's easy to get names confused.  lol)

After the quick rain shower today, I pulled the cover off the 2 deck Performers and took this pic to show the height difference.
.
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

Nice to know the newer performers do stand taller than the SS's as that is my only complaint with the kettles in general, they are a bit too low to the ground for me. But that is why they make bricks!

Thin Blue Smoke

That is a good looking haul!  It is a good thing he also gave you the lighter fluid! :)

Great score on the "New Red". I have the height issue also... We need to come up with a design that as long if not lonter than the SS for space.

Yeah, but I'm bringing it back for Jeff, he was running low at the meetup.  ;D

Great pick up Marty, that grill looks great.

And Bman, top work (and love those blue(s) brothers)!

Showing a little WKC pride here on the front panel.

Fully cleaned up and she fires up with gusto. (Had to clean the ignitor, but nothing major there, just neglect) Had to add the WKC oval sticker to the back side, and the gourmet grate just felt right. Her sister will be next, and will get the full treatment.
