After our Food Saver quit on us I decided to do some research and look for a better method.  The Food Saver did work well for what it was until it gave up.  We liked it but wanted something a little more dependable.  I found the Vevor line which is of course a Chinese knock - off but the price was doable and I read some good reviews and found real life demo videos on youtube from people who owned them and liked them.

I chose the DZ-260A which is size wise the middle of their line with a strong vacuum pump worthy of a much larger model.  It is heavy (54lbs) and is in a more permanent position in our laundry room so we don't have to drag it our like we did our Food Saver.  I also ordered an assortment of chamber vac seal bags from Amazon that work well so far.  We've sealed a few things - made ice bags with water, pulled pork packs and did chicken legs this past weekend.  Wish I could upload videos here - not sure we can.  It's fun to watch the vacuum dial and the sealing process.  Time will tell, but so far we like it and would recommend it.  We're in about $250 for the unit, $33 for the bag assortment and I opted for synthetic oil for the vacuum pump which was about $12.

Cheers!

I'm in the market for a second one, my current food saver is still working, in Doraville LOL, but would like something more along that design.
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill
