Tons of info, I'm blown away. With any lucky the vintage SSP I'm looking at will work out and then I'll need all the help I can find on here!
When I moved to Spain I gave my trusty OG kettle to my neighbor. I thought used old Webers would be as cheap and plentiful here as they are in the States. Shocked to find that's not the case. Prices on rusted, used old kettles are crazy. New ones cost roughly 30-40% more than in the US, so there's that.
If things work out with the vintage SSP seller, it will probably end up costing me as much as a new Performer. But the steel still looks really good in his pictures and I just love the lines of that cart...
The bowl looks severely rusted. But the ash catcher looks OK, so maybe it's just grime.
Anyway, that's what brought me here: Even if the SSP doesn't work out, I'm in the mood for a restoration project and I need a nice Weber kettle. Badly.
