Vintage advertisements
« on: November 21, 2023, 11:02:12 AM »
Came across these pretty awesome vintage advertisements while I was trying to search for the exact newspaper print that featured a 18” 49er kettle printing block image I just got my hands on. Thought I would share these as there is some cool info.

Seems as though the barrel que was advertised on sale at $190 off rrp which is a huge discount now let alone in the 1970s. This could indicate that Weber did produce these and maybe they didn’t sell well and had to move stock.

Mid 50s Smokey joe on tall legs

60s kettles shown with axle only being the cheaper entry level grill back in the day. Could suggest that perhaps the single axle didn’t indicate that it was older, rather just that is was the base model sold at particular stores

They even misspelt weber back then in the 60s with two B’s on the advertisement for the galley Que 🤣

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill
