Just a 7409 ash sweep kit
« on: July 14, 2013, 02:01:43 PM »
Went to a birthday party for my son today - there was a true value about a 2 min drive. Small mom and pop store. They did have a good collection of weber grills. They had the old platinum with the two side tables. Picked up a 7409 ash sweep kit for my black MT. These stores are always cool to see what they might have laying around.

There is an Ace that has a few items near me, so i go in from time to time.  I thought the new Platinums had the two tables and the old ones had one?

Nice find!  I think those 7409 kits are up to $35 on Amazon now.

It is one of these - I don't think these are made anymore. They had a 18.5 WSM, that is one I would like to get one day. It would fill out what I have I now.

They had two more 7409 ash sweep assemblies. I am thinking of going back and getting them too - future refurbs and/or helping out fellow WKC folks.

That's a good idea, Mike.  I'm sure folks around her would be happy to pay you a fair price for finding those.  If not immediately, then surely in a few months when the supply dries up.  I've got one hiding in a grill I rehabbed for a friend that I intend to go retrieve after replacing it with an H-style.  ;-)

There was one on eBay earlier today with a $14ish BIN plus shipping.
I have a few stashed away already, so I let it slide.
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

Whenever I see these I am going to buy them.  If anything but to help other club members out.
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.
