Hello all, I'm hoping that someone may be able to point me in a solid direction. I have a Genesis II 310 and want to upgrade the cast iron grates to stainless. I've read many posts that the creme de la creme is RCPlaneBuyer's work so I contacted him and was able to purchase the deflectors and flavorizer bars but unfortunately regarding the grates he responded "The rod stock for grates is so expensive now that it's impractical to build grates." I would have really liked to had them from him due to all the positive feedback and now am a little confused about where to go for replacements. I don't mind spending the coin on something that is quality and will last, I'd rather skip the cheaper knockoffs or plated stuff. Anybody have any good suggestions?
Thanks guys.

Amazon has some quality stainless grates.  RCPlaneBuyer makes great stuff,
but frankly it is overkill.  His grates will last 100 years... unfortunately, the grill
will not. Additionally, Weber seems to be wanting to change sizes slightly
so grates will no longer fit the newer models.   Find a decent 7mm set in the
$50 range and you should be good to go.

His stuff was indeed nice. Agreed that it might be overkill but I for the most part subscribe to the idea that buying "nicer/quality" items benefits myself more in the long run due to the simple fact I am not worrying about or tinkering with quality issues and may fully enjoy whatever hobby I am in pursuit of at that moment. I appreciate the advice you gave and will look into it. Are there any specific manufacturer names I should go after that are regarded well here? Thanks again.

I use Qulimetal on a regular basis on many of my restorations
