Kettle leg repair
«

Just wanted to share a fix I've done a couple times now. I SAVED a pretty sweet grill out of the wild yesterday that needs some TLC.... first and foremost was the rear leg. It was banged up pretty good. I removed the leg, and I happen to have a broom stick that fits tightly into a weber leg. So I slid the leg over the broom stick till I got to the dents. Then I warmed up the leg with a torch. Then I held the leg ( cool part of it ) and hit the broom stick against the ground till the stick pushed the dents out. It's not perfect, but its 100% better.

Your rear leg was severely out of shape. I’ve used a wood dowel a few times. Never thought to use a torch, thanks for the tip.
Nice RRR on the leg!

Nice. Some small taps around the crease might help level out any high spots. PDR style.

The heat made it easier to straighten out for sure. And actually, I did tap it with a dead blow hammer on my wooden workbench while the broomstick was still inside the leg.
