Performer table screw nut plates spinning.
« on: December 23, 2020, 05:24:33 AM »
I was upgrading the screws on my performer to stainless ones and when I was installing the last screw the nut plate came lose and started to spin.
So I am looking at a fix ,but it would require bring the the grill to a shop to get it tack welded.
Can you think of another option?
Thanks.

You may be able to center punch around the edges of it to keep from spinning. Or apply a few drops of Loctite between the nut and frame.. The green or red kind would probably work well.

Longer bolt with a nut on the bottom it should be hidden behind the front plate so you can't see it.

Looking at these options I drilled out the rivnut and fitted a replacement ,after talking to some friends one had access to a rivnut tool and was able to use it. Replaced and table reinstalled perfect.
Thanks for the ideas.
