Hey all,

Soon to be a Weber kettle owner...looking at purchasing a new Weber Summit Charcoal Grilling Center as soon as the new models becomes available.  I hope there is some love for the SCGC here along with the original kettles.  From what I can tell, most things apply across the board pretty well.

I was looking for the one grill that will do absolutely everything I need, and though I don't like the price, it really has everything I want/need.  Large enough for brisket and multiple racks, efficient enough to use in the middle of a Canadian winter (well, at -20 C anyways), and can hold a low/slow for 16 hours as well a sear a great steak.  Will probably pick up a slow/sear around the same time as it seems to be the perfect accessory.

I come from the Kamado world (Big Steel Keg) which is wearing out and many great years...

Welcome from Doraville, GA. not a thing wrong with getting the Summit as your first grill
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

You will love the Summit. It's the best Weber purchase I have made

Welcome from Virginia Beach, VA.

You are going to love it.
I made bacon and eggs with my Hunsaker griddle, simple hot dogs for lunch, and Jerk drumsticks for dinner.
Used less than a chimney of coals for three cooks.
I have also made a couple of my best brisket on it.
I have no regrets.

Thanks for the welcomes all....

...anyone have the inside scoop when the new gen is becoming available?  Dealer is being evasive and trying to keep getting me to buy a current one (which they don't even have stock either....)

Interesting, but I just noticed the Canadian Weber site no longer has the Weber Summit Charcoal even listed on their index....

Hopefully this means they are preparing for their new stock/marketing/distribution.

I've recently heard that they we're going to offer the summit without the propane lighter part for a cheaper price. I'd be interested in that if it's true.
