Hi Folks,
I've fitted cable ports to a WSM and a one touch Platinum.  Dead easy!!  But, where would you position a port on a performer deluxe?  The front and a back panels make it more complicated.

Cheers :)

I would position it farthest from wherever you usually put charcoal.  If it is made of silicon as the higher temps will not be good for it.  Rather than drill into my kettle I would probably just put the wire between the bowl/lid or install a stainless steel cable grommet on a  stacker.

I put mine on the front where you stand on the right just above the cooking grate line.  I drilled from the inside out.  Works great.

Thanks for the replies chaps.  With your advice I have decided.
Holes being drilled this weekend.  One for Smoke X probes and one for the billows.

Photos to follow.

Photos as promised.  I fitted a brass running nipple big enough to accommodate the four probes of a Smoke X4. Underneath by the ash catcher blades I've drilled a hole and fitted a high temperature Silicone plug which can be removed and the Billows installed.  Can't wait to try it out
