I'm sure I'm posting too much on here lately but I wanted to share the first grill with the grill grates I got yesterday.

2 minutes then 45 degree turn. 4 minutes a side. Took the bone in pork pork chop off at 145. Carried over very well once wrapped. Paired it with garden fresh pico made an hour before and a baked/microwave potato.

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Looks grate!  We did that with chicken the other night and it was really good.  Less detailed pics, we were very hungry. : )

Awesome!  I have two small sections of grill grates and love them. I probably need to get a full set.

So should I add grill grates to my arsenal?

So should I add grill grates to my arsenal?

It wouldn't hurt

I like the griddle side for burgers and veggies as well. Also, every now and then it's satisfying to lay down some bold grill marks on a steak or chop.

I toyed around with the idea for a few months and watched a lot of videos of others using them before I pulled the trigger.  I'm excited to use the griddle side like Hoosier mentioned for burgers so get a nice crust like a diner flat top burger.

Two months ago I purchased kettle (22" MT & SJ) and accessories package deal from an older gentleman that could not get outside and grill anymore. All items were less than 18 months old.

With that said the SJ had grill grates, I finally used them last night for the first time. I don't know that I'd spend $50 for them, they're cool to have.

@HoosierKettle
I'll have to try burgers on the griddle side.

Yea that's the SJ Grill grates on a 26er lol

Oh my gosh these might have been the best steaks I have ever made. Yeah you need grill grates joe.  Reverse seared ribeyes.

There is plenty of sear between grill marks so the myth that grill marks are somehow sub par compared to an even all over sear is bs imo.

AND it looks cool so there is that.

So I did a second cook on these tonight. The charcoal was being an asshole and the kettle was not coming up to temp so I called an audible and took my 2lb ribeye to the Weber genesis. I also brought out the cast iron for some skillet potatoes.  3.5 minutes then rotate 45. Took it off after 23 minutes and put it in foil with a big pat of butter and let it rest for 20 minutes. I think it came out perfect and like @HoosierKettle  said. It looks cool. Haha

Added those skillet potatoes with a fresh from my garden Roma and it's a delicious dinner.

I'm happy with my purchase so far.
