Stormy Wednesday
« on: April 09, 2020, 06:41:22 AM »
Rough night in central Indiana.  We had a tornado touch down about 10 miles to the south.   Unfortunately, we had a mature pine tree lose the top 25 feet and fall on our patio.

Amazingly, only a gutter was bent and the family is safe.

I had five vintage kettles out (3 pat pending ) plus my sequoia, ranch, performer, and genesis.  Miraculously, only the performer is lost.  It’s pancaked under the trunk of the tree (taps playing in the background).  It’s the most easily replaced.  Kettles got knocked around but the covers probably saved them from porcelain damage.    Very lucky.   If it fell a few feet differently, it might have been our master bedroom being rained on.

Glad you guys are safe, that is a scary feeling, we have had the same thing happen twice. Lots of STUFF ruined but it could have been worse.

Glad you are okay - you've got the right attitude about it. We can replace things, not people.
Wife: Let me guess... you want to grill again

Glad everyone is ok and damage is minimal. Let me know if you need a chainsaw and a hand out there.

Glad to hear everyone is ok and that the only kettle damaged was a newer performer. A Sequoia is not as easily replaced.

I’d save the lid to that performer, those dents really have a story now

Glad you all are okay. Weather has been crazy in Illinois also but no tornadoes near us thank god, but 78 on Monday, snow on Thursday and windy as all hell. What king of crap are we all going through. Stay safe.
Wife said "No more GRILLS in this house!" So I bought a 2nd house!
