The 2 letter date code is pretty easy to keep track of.
It's based on the ten letter word "AUTHORIZED".
A=1
U=2
T=3
H=4
O=5
R=6
I=7
Z=8
E=9
D=0

That means the first would be an EO.
So there would be EO, ER, EI, EZ, EE, DD, DA, DU, DT, DH, DO, DR, DI, DZ, DE, AD, AA, AU, AND AT.
I've got Webers. 10 - WSMs, 5 - 22.5" kettles, 2 - 18.5" kettle, 2 - SJS, 2 - SJP, 4 - WGA, 1 vintage Coolie Pan

I'm a big dummy....keep calling "M" a 1990.....should check in with the "Master List" once a month or something......... :-[

Here's your  "L"..........

I'll have to send it to you directly, Photophucket actually did what it said it was going to do & the pixel size is too low.....also went out in 105 degree heat about 6 times trying to figger the silly camera's view field at the higher rate.....will try again for a clean shot in the AM.....rather try for a close up of a pissed off alligator right now...... >:(

The wife's OTG may be an"AA"........I'll check that also

On a lighter, cheerier note.....anybody ever notice  that there seems to be a ton of "M"'s around....was there a big marketing push that year, maybe?

I know my Performer is an AA, but it's dark out right now.
Oh, and my Mini-WSM (Joe) is a DO

Looks like I could contribute *IF* I can achieve the same quality is the others have.
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

Marty, if Chad can't get you his "DO" I can take a picture of my Dad's lime green '05 Performer but it'll be a few days or more.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Whatever and whoever you all can do is appreciated. It's been fun trying to collect them all!

This thread is so great....
Vintage Weber Grill raconteur and bon vivant.....and definitely Sir Agent X

This is an awesome collaboration! Not to be a pain in the *ss but there was no I date code. 1986 was H code then 1987 was J code. Weber skipped I for some strange reason. 1994 began the two letter era with EH.

Hope this helps.  Awesome vent pics.. Lets keep 'me coming! Seems 1982-D is the most elusive example out there.

MartyG

Will make the changes - the only PITA would be people not sharing what they know. Thanks for the clarification!

Craig

Thanks Marty!  :)

Buckie, you've been right all along, 1990 is M..  ;)

Does this help? Not the greatest. From my new boy Blue. Didn't take long to get dirty.  :( :o :( ;)

Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.

MartyG

Both nice, but I love the dirty one! Thanks!
