I stumbled across this when looking up tips on regulating air flow in a kettle.

I have my parents' original 18" Weber Kettle from 1980...still works. Used to be my primary grill but now it's used for overflow when we have a lot of food to cook.

A few years ago my family surprised me with a 22" Performer with propane start. I've added rotisserie and pizza oven accessories. I barely use the gas start but the additional 4" of grill size has made a huge difference in the control I have over temperature. The work surface next to it is nice. Unsurprisingly the quality of the product is still excellent.

I use the grill year round...could be 10 below or raining and I'll still be out there. Excited to read through the posts on this forum and learn a thing or two. I'll also share my own experiences when I feel like I have something to offer.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn't?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I've amassed a nice collection, but I'm missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

Not sure what part of Chicagoland you're from, but welcome from up north in Highland Park! Grilling year-round is the only way.
Wife: Let me guess... you want to grill again

Welcome from the NW side, right near O'hare.
I have a red mist first generation performer (SSP) that is beautiful.  Got the 5 gallon tank recertified & filled up, but have never tried the gas starter.  I continue to use a chimney, like I've done for such a long time.  It is what I cook on the most.

Hal
