The older kettles leg sockets aren't oriented properly for the new ring to clip onto. People use different methods to get the new ones to work.

I have an extra Gen 1 ring and bar, but no bucket. Might have an extra set of hex nut sweeps... I'll check.

Can the new sweeps work with the old style pan? Wondering if the mounting tabs on the sweep are long enough to accommodate the bracket that holds the ash pan in place.
