Great find!  I'm also interested to know if black was the original cart color

Is the cart originally black? Does the kettle have tabs like the sequoia 22s or does it just sit on the handles? Oh and congrats!

Thx - Yes the cart was originally black. And no tabs, just the handle straps support the grill in the cutout.

Congrats on the score, Matt! Looks to be in amazing shape! Did he happen to mention if the cutting board came with the cart when purchased?  ...and that is the original ash pan? Interesting....

The owner said that the cutting board came with it right from the showroom. Its the perfect shape to hang into the cutout and the left and right edges of the board are radiused so they have a soft edge - pretty cool. Sadly this one has split into three parts down two of the laminations so I'm hoping I can either glue or dowel it back together then refinish to save the original... I didn't specifically ask about the ash pan but he seemed very confident that this was the way he received it when new. I know some of the 22" models had pans without any cutouts - but I don't believe I have ever seen one like that with an 18??  I may try calling him back to ask if he recalls ever replacing or adding it.

I chatted with a guy that had one without the cutting board and he said his had a 22 j cut ashpan resting on the floor also. His was painted tho white tho. Mine looks like it was maybe originally green but has been painted many times so I am unsure. Contrats its beautiful.

So I had another conversation with Uli and he is certain that the cutting board and ash pan came as-is from the factory.

"it all came that way, nothing was ever added or modified"

Well he's a primary resource, doesn't get much better than that. Cool to know!
