Has anyone tried steaks from Wal Mart? Wondering how they compare to butcher shop meats.

Not a fan of the Walmart meat.  Stick with the butcher shop.

Closest thing to a butcher shop where im at is sprouts. Walmart is almost across the street. That and winco is pretty much all i go for everything. Never had a problem

I put them on a rack in the refrigerator for a couple of days to dry them out and it helps, but I don't buy Walmart steaks very often.  My local Kroger has on premise butchers and usually have prime ribeyes, so that's where I go.

I hear that the steaks in the black tray are better than the ones in the white tray...Still not impressed...

I like sams and Costco for steak. Meijer and Kroger when on sale. I buy all the staples at Aldi. I've never bought any groceries from Walmart so I'm not sure.

Gotta admit, I've had some pretty tasty T-Bones and Strip steaks from Wally world.  Bought a nice T-bone there today marked down for a quick sale to $8.85 from $12.50. It's been seasoned in a little freshly ground black pepper, minced garlic, kosher salt mixture in bit of horseradish mustard to bind.
