Kettle newbie, help with kettle identification
« on: January 13, 2019, 04:44:39 PM »
Hello Weber Kettle club and thank you for the add!
I recently came across a Weber Kettle and started grilling with charcoal and am really enjoying it, starting to lean further away from my Weber Spirit gasser!
My question is I’ve come to the conclusion that my kettle is a 1st generation MasterTouch with EE stamp (1999, last year of 1st gen) just not sure of color either red or red mist and also the darker color around the lid, is that part of the original paint or the “fade” that people talk about? Is that caused by the smoke seeping out from under the lid?
I figured the Weber aficionados on here could help me out. Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the Wkc from the Chicago suburbs.
Nice master touch.
The fade that you see is just the way the porcelain was applied. Even if you cleaned it up with a razor blade or steel wool it would still be there.
