US Coast Guard - Rough Surf Training
« on: December 17, 2018, 06:25:52 PM »

These photos were taken this past Thursday (12/13) by Dave Rodgers at Ocean Beach in San Francisco.  The training session was conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard's Golden Gate Station when the waves were estimated to be 15 feet.  Today (12/17) the waves at Mavericks were estimated to be 40 to 60 feet.  Any Coasties that have gone through this training?

As a boater myself, that is awesome!  I wouldn't want to find myself in the surf like that, for any reason.
